Dua before eating, (Khana Khane Ki Dua) is a Dua that Muslims recite before they begin eating their food.

In Muslim cultures reciting Dua before eating or taking Allah’s name is a way to seek Allah’s blessings. This way Muslims also acknowledge Allah’s role in providing food. Because it’s very important believe that whatever we have and will have will only come from Allah only.

Above mentioned, two Duas بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم and بسم اللہ وعلی برکت اللہ and any of them can be used.

بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ۔

بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ وَعَلٰی بَرَكَةِ اللّٰہِ

I begin in the name of Allah, the Most Beneficial, the Most Merciful.

In the name of Allah and on the blessing of Allah (I begin eating)

Khana Khane Ki Dua (Urdu)

شروع کرتا ہوں اللہ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان، نہایت رحم والا ہے۔

اللہ کے نام سے اور اللہ کے فضل سے (میں کھانا شروع کرتا ہوں)

Khana Khane Ki Dua (Hindi)

मैं अल्लाह के नाम से शुरू करता हूं, सबसे फायदेमंद, सबसे दयालु।

अल्लाह के नाम से और अल्लाह के आशीर्वाद से मैं खाना शुरू करता हूँ

Shuru Karta hu Allah ke naam se jo bara meharban nahayat reham wala he.

Allah ke naam se aur Allah ke fazal se me khana shuru karta hu.

Showing gratitude is essential part of faith. Allah has already blessed us with so many naimats that we can never pay back for. But we have to constantly express our gratitude towards all the blessings.

Allah says when you express gratitude, I will give you more۔ Allay says “And be thankful and do not be disbeliever”

Allah also says in Quran “if you express gratitude, I shall give you more, and if you are ungratefull then my punishment will be upon you.

Reciting Dua for food or any other dua actually strengthen your belief system and your faith. Because you keep remind yourself that Allah is the only provider off whatever you have.
